Crystal Healing

If you need more grounding should you just carry around a grounding stone? That depends. It can be a quick way to get results (especially wearing a magnetic anklet works fast for me). However it can also help to wear a fire or water stone to come at it a bit more gently. The fire stones are the sacral and solar plexus chakra area ones that people are familiar with such as Carnelian, Citrine etc. Water stones are the heart and throat chakra ones like Amazonite and Green Aventurine.

Both fire and water stimulate earth. This I have felt through my meditations going through the Crystal University courses with Samaya Aster (Naisha Ahsian). Today I am wearing on my left wrist three bracelets: Power Duo, Abundant Energy, and Ruby on adjustable Hemp. I really like Tiger’s Eye with Citrine in the 6mm (smaller stones) mix called The Power Duo that Artist Gems makes. Is it a Crystal or a Rock?

I like the word rock. I was hoping to sell rocks at my shop and call them rocks, but I have noticed kids like the word crystal. So when I have a booth at the Farmers Market I often label my tumbled rocks and other stones “rock crystals”. Then kids can relate due to the video games and movies with magical crystals. Today I found my answer to the difference between the two. I found it while I was doing my homework for Crystal Resonance with Samaya Aster.

Crystal and Rocks are Minerals!

Minerals
Minerals are chemical elements that form a compound that is consistent throughout its structure. For example, when one atom of silicon (Si) and two atoms of oxygen (O) combine, they create the compound (SiO2). When six molecules of SiO2 arrange themselves together, they create a base unit of quartz. Quartz is a mineral, because it contains a compound that is pure and consistent throughout its structure. Energetically, minerals are very precise in the frequencies with which they can resonate due to the purity of their content. Both crystals and rocks are made up of minerals.

Crystals grow in a precise fashion and are geometric.
A crystal is a mineral that has grown under the perfect conditions to allow it to take on a precise geometric form that is determined by the minerals it contains. A crystalline form has a precise geometry of angles and planes that allow its overall form to reflect its unique mineral content. When base units of quartz arrange themselves in an offset screw formation, they will create a single terminated clear quartz crystal. When base units of calcium and carbon (CaCo3) arrange themselves into a crystalline form, they will create calcite crystals.

Crystals are homogenous, meaning that they have a regular grouping pattern throughout and atoms are arranged in the same manner throughout. This makes crystals holographic in nature, with each tiny grouping or base unit within being a replica of the overall form of the crystal.

There are fourteen possible arrangements of minerals into crystals, called the Bravais lattices.  Energetically, crystals are precise in the frequencies they can resonate with, and they are directional in that they run energy through their structures in precise ways.

Rocks
Rocks are combinations of two or more minerals that may or may not express themselves as crystals. For instance Granite is a rock that is composed of the minerals quartz, feldspar, plagioclase and biotite mica. It may also contain crystals of other minerals such as magnetite, pyrite, tourmaline, etc., depending upon where it is from and the conditions it formed under.

Rocks are much less precise in their energies because they contain many different minerals which may or may not be crystalline. Rocks are more broad spectrum in the energies with which they can resonate. They are non-directional because they do not have a precise crystalline structure.

Intention

How to manifest your intentions AKA reach your goals?

First know what they are. Become clear with what you want. Then steer your life towards these areas and away from distractions that do not include what it is that you really want. Things can change, so re-evaluate once in awhile. When you are clear with what you want and are clear about it in your daily interactions with people, intentions become easier to achieve. Your dreams can take place.

If you’re into meditation or visualization you can close your eyes for a moment and hold the vision of you doing what you want to do and everything going smoothly. Love and light around you and your chosen activities. People smiling and being appreciative.

As far as footwork goes your high-energy times of the day could be dedicated to activities that include your goals. Then during the tired times of the day (if you have any) do the chores of life that don’t take as much creative energy.

Aquamarine: Release

What is not working in life right now thoughts, habits, media, clothes/belongings? Let them go to allow space for new things to occur. Aquamarine means water (aqua) and ocean/sea (marine). Thus the stone has been a talisman for mermaids and sailors. The color blue gives it the throat chakra designation so is helpful for communication and speaking one’s truth.

Give away what you don’t need and let go of preconceived notions of your rigid schedule. Let the universe and love brighten your day.

Lepidolite: Calm Acceptance

Pink and purple lepidolite. The pink one has pink tourmaline in it adding peace and love to the mix.

 

Lepidolite is a high lithium content stone and hence offers calming and meditative qualities to the wearer. Acceptance of the present day the way it is and particular circumstances that can be changed and what cannot. This includes things that one would like to change, but would be too hard to tackle right now.

Lately I’m finding a balance between writing grants for non-profit youth music programs and making jewelry. I have also added the “buy less” and work with what I already own motto. It helps to save money and reduce clutter. I just finished a large grant writing project that I started early and worked on almost every day for 10 days. Looking back on it I could not have done it in two days, it needed air and space to develop. I accept that time is important to writing a grant application for it to be effective.

Blue Green

One can’t help but notice how many beautiful blue and green gemstones there are. Turquoise, Amazonite, Aventurine, Prehnite, Ruby in Zoisite, Aquamarine and even Chrysocolla the master of combining green and blue.

Sacred Sounds is how Naisha Ahsian describes Chrysocolla, “it governs all aspects of sound healing.” You just can’t beat that! The next time you’re feeling down, pick up an instrument, play your favorite song, or hum a tune and get healed. Another great tool is to think about green and blue energy opening up your heart and throat chakras. 

Thoughts become Truth

I found out I gained some weight, at least that’s what the doctor said when I weighed in for a physical. Since then I haven’t been able to stop eating. I need to go back to somehow thinking I’m slender and eat that way LOL!

I know one excellent method, well actually two to lose weight or at least plateau. They are (1) only eat when I’m hungry and (2) put a time limit on when I can eat in the evening like “no eating after 7pm”. The latter one is fun because you eat all you want all day but stop at that time you’ve selected. The next day woohoo! get to eat again.

Anyway how to tie this to a rock. Lapis lazuli comes to mind since it is inner wisdom and intuition (sounds like the same thing right). For me inner wisdom is listening to something ancient within me, a voice that is more than my conscience mind. Whereas intuition is my gut feeling like when I think someone is a bit weird and I’m getting weird vibes from them–it’s almost always true–if I stick around to find out. Wearing or even thinking about that dark blue color of Lapis helps bring this awareness to the forefront and even is considered to activate your 3rd Eye Chakra! You just can’t beat that.

Been having a good time sharing my talent and making new things with my business skills. Today’s stone is Rhodonite which, you guessed it, is sharing of talent, self-love, and self-acceptance. Those last two things self-love and self-acceptance seem to go hand in hand, and if you are feeling good about yourself–by golly–you’re more apt to share your talents.

Rhodonite is a beautiful pink with black lines in it. Some stones have mostly pink, others are nicely striped with black.
